What is Neurofeedback?
A computer program provides real-time feedback about what is happening in your brain. The games/training screens reward you when you are in a healthy or optimal brain state. A goal is often to achieve a calm, focused and relaxed mental state. When the goal is achieved, the games move, and you earn points! The more you practice this optimal state for learning, the easier it gets for your brain to achieve it. It is truly exercise for your brain.
Clients regularly report improvements in attention, learning and memory. They also notice reductions in anxiety and stress.
Programs for Children
At the ADD Centre and Biofeedback Institute of Toronto we offer customized neurofeedback and biofeedback training programs for children.
Neurofeedback
Allows the child to receive feedback about what is happening in their brain. They will have the opportunity to see what their brainwaves look like and learn to identify what it feels like to be focused.
The Session
During the session the child will be playing a game where they get points and rewards if they achieve the target mental state. For example, if the child pays attention to the screen, the game will move and the child will get points.
Research
Has shown that this neurofeedback program leads to lasting changes in attention and impulse control without medication.
Programs for Adults
At the ADD Centre and Biofeedback Institute of Toronto we offer customized neurofeedback and biofeedback training programs for Adults.
Neurofeedback & Biofeedback
in combination with strategies that assist the client to achieve success in the workplace or in adult education programs.
The Session
The goal of the training is to help the client learn to become calm, focused and relaxed. This is done using a computer program that provides very fast feedback about what the brain and the body are doing.
How?
Neurofeedback training works by reading your EEG (brainwave patterns) and letting you know when you are in the zone of an optimal mental state.
